Prague’s Old Town is a beautifully preserved historic district filled with medieval streets, Gothic churches and grand Baroque buildings. At its heart stands Old Town Square and the famous Astronomical Clock, installed in 1410. One of the world’s oldest astronomical clocks still operating, it displays the time, astronomical positions and a procession of twelve apostles each hour.

It was a cold winters day so I took refuge in a restaurant across the street from the main square and enjoyed watching the clock as the animated characters came to life. I wanted to put the clock in perspective with the spires of Prague. The them of the city is one of spiked and turrets pointing skyward. The style is unique to the bohemian capital and creates a fairytale-like experience.
