This work is an exploration of my career as an artist - it uses the combined elements of sea and sky. The colour blue was chosen to be the medium with which I explored this new idea. From deep shades of ultramarine to aqua and midnight blues. The piece is evenly divided across the horizon as it reflects the point in my career where I was struggling with the concept of becoming a full-time artist but also leaving the old life behind .
The turmoil of the waves is one of tentative confidence in launching out into this new career while this sky represents the old life in the distance which is resolving itself into a sense of calm represented by the light shades of purple.
