Tesselaar Tulips

$5,000.00

Tesselaar tulip fields is located in Silvan, at the top of Mount Dandenong. The Dutch family immigrated to Australia in the 1950s to escape the flat, flood-prone land of The Netherlands and created some of the most beautiful tulip gardens in Australia. This piece is an homage to them and fond memories of visiting this location. The clouds in this piece are a subtle nod to Van Gogh who comes from the same part of Holland as my ancestors. The work is full of vibrant colours and rich pallet knife strokes.
