The inspiration for this work came from a day at the One World Observation Deck looking towards the Empire State Building.
When the sun set, it turned the sky into a brilliant shade of red, casting pink light onto the key buildings in Manhattan. The effect was a city in gold and pink for a unique hour.
This work contains 18-carat gold, which has been delicately applied to achieve the effect of sunlight dancing across buildings.
